Early Recognition
- 1963-1965: Best Singer Award (College Level).
- Gold Medal for Best Singer in Inter-College Singing Competition, Gauhati University.
- Established as a debut Singer in AIR (All India Radio) Guwahati.
The Bodo Music Revolution (1976)
In collaboration with Gopal Boro, Kanak Lal Swargiary researched and introduced Modern Bodo Music to AIR Guwahati for the first time in 1976.
First E.P. Disk: "Bodo modern Songs"
Released in cooperation with Na Ra Racco company. Ceremonial release at Jyoti Chitraban.

Music Direction by Kanak Lal Swargiary, Arrangement by Jitul Sonowal.
This album was a massive commercial success, becoming the most sold cassette for Guwahati Music Makers.

Lifetime Achievements & Recognition
Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award by Bodo Sahitya Sabha in 2015 for his immense contribution to culture and music.
Asam Sahitya Sabha recognized Kanak Lal Swargiary as samannay silpi in 15th December 2015.
